Books to University Students Online

Students and pedagogues of both public and private universities can use the temporary online access to the collections of the National Library of the CR and of public universities since March 17, 2020. The agreement on the online access has been made this afternoon between Martin Kocanda, the NL general director, and Jiří Srstka, director of DILIA that is the collective copyright manager. More than 206 000 titles of monographs and periodicals will be available, which represents 59 million pages.

The agreement signed on March 16, 2020, will allow students and pedagogues of public and private universities to access the digitised collections of the NL and of public universities through Kramerius application. „It will also concern the copyrighted works. I would like to thank DILIA for its helpful user-friendly attitude towards hundreds of students who turn to us with request to make our books available,“ said Martin Kocanda. „During the state of emergency, the university students can access our collections and read the books, however, they will not be allowed to download and print them,“ added Kocanda. This way, the National Library wants to eliminate illegal distribution of copyrighted publications.
