President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda visited the National Library of the Czech Republic on 16 November, 2022. During his short stay in the library he was accompanied by general director Tomáš Foltýn. They took a tour of the Klementinum´s Baroque Library and historical corridors along Křižovnická Street. However, the President spent most of his time in the Manuscripts and Early Printed Books Department, where around twenty rare historical documents from historical and Slavonic Library collections were prepared for him. The President is a collector of early prints with considerable expert knowledge, therefore the discussion about the exhibited documents with Tomáš Klimek, Director of Historical and Music Collections, and Lukáš Babka, Director of the Slavonic Library, was extremely cordial, natural and interesting, and Mr. Nausėda finally spent at the Klementinum more time than planned.
