Collection development
General characteristics
Framework of acquisition policy of the National Library of the Czech Republic (NL CR) is established by general definition of the content of collection development as defined by the statutes of the NL CR. It means in practice that the Library developes systematically its collection of bohemical documents published in the Czech Republic (mainly through the legal deposit). Development of the collection of foreign documents in the social and natural sciences, culture and art is implemented in selective way as well as that of historical documents. Its collections of literature in Slavic Studies, librarianship and musicology are also developped in a selective way.
