Find music collections

Collections of printed and manuscript music and other documents related to music, i.e. books on music, professional musicological periodicals, correspondence, librettos etc., originating mostly between the 18th and 21st centuries are kept and made accessible in the Music Department Reading Room,  more details about collections of the Music Department.

The earliest music sources, mainly medieval and Renaissance ones, are kept in the Manuscripts and Early Printed Books Department.

We recommend to search the requested document in the following online sources, in case you did not succeed in finding the searched document in any of the given sources  you can check card catalogues and printed sources mentioned in column on the right side.

NL catalogue  - base NKC/Musicals searching
The words typed-in  are searched in various fields of the record, more exact wording of the query can be put directly in the base NKC/Musicals

Music Division Catalogue searching (catalogue contains data up to January 1998)
(if you know author or title - in case the searched document has no author)
